[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 116
“I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live” (Psalm 116:1-2)
“The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me” (Psalm 116:5-6)
“How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people” (Psalm 116:12-14)
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15)
“I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, in the courts of the house of the Lord – in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord.” (Psalm 116:17-19)
The writer of this Psalm underwent difficult experiences and almost died. But the Lord heard his cry and delivered him God helped him and saved him from death. The Lord stopped his tears, strengthen his feet and guide him walk before Him.
THIS IS HOW THE PSALMIST RESPONDED:
- I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord (v. 13)
- I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people (vs. 14, 18)
- I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord (v. 17)
- I will always praise the Lord ( v. 19)
When God has rescued you from danger, how do you respond to Him? Do you fulfill your vows and give thanks to Him? Do you praise Him and give him the glory?[:]
