[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 120
“I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me. Save me, O Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues” (Psalm 120:1-2)
The Psalmist was in a situation where people around him had lying lips and deceitful tongues. He wanted peace but they were for war. So, he cried out to God in distress and the Lord answered him.
This world is full of conflicts. Nations fight against nations. Families fall apart. People cannot get along with each other. In the past, heathen nations defeated Israel, Cain killed Abel, Joseph was sold by his brothers, David was pursued by Saul and Jesus was hated by the people. You and I are going to experience it too.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He came to bring peace. He wants his followers to be peacemakers and not trouble makers. To have perfect peace, we need to have peace with God, peace in our hearts and peace with people. Let us ask God to help us promote peace and be a peacemaker for the glory of God.
