[:en]SCRIPTURE: PSALM 142
“I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy. I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble” (Psalm 142:1-2)
“When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. In the path where I walk men have hidden a snare for me” (Psalm 142:3)
“I cry to you, O Lord; I say. “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living”. Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Set me free from myt prison, that I may praise your name” (Psalm 142:5-7)
David was in the cave hiding from Saul when he wrote this Psalm. What did he do in this difficult situation?
- He cried out to the Lord (v. 1)
- He poured out his complaint and trouble (v. 2)
- He trusted the Lord as his refuge (v. 5)
- He [lead God to rescue him (v. 6)
- He asked God to set him free from his prison (v. 7a)
- He praised the goodness of the Lord (v. 7b)
When you are in a cave today, do not look within or look around. Look up and look ahead with confidence. For His goodness endures forever to the righteous.
