“All a man’s ways seem right to him, but the lord weighs the heart” (Proverbs 21:2)

“To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice” (Proverbs 21:3)

“A fortune made by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare” (Proverbs 21:6)

“Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife” (Proverbs 21:9)

“A man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead” (Proverbs 21:16)

“HGe who loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and oil will never be rich” (Proverbs 21:17)

“He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor” (Proverbs 21:19)

“Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife” (Proverbs 21:19)

“He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity” (Proverbs 21:23)

What the Lord detests:

  1. Haughty eyes and proud heart (v. 4)

  3. Violence of the wicked (v. 7)
  4. The way of the guilty (v. 8)
  5. Quarrelsome and ill-tempered woman (v.s 9, 19)
  6. The evildoers (v. 15)
  7. The unfaithful (v. 18)
  8. Foolish man (v. 20)
  9. The sluggard (v. 25)
  10. The mocker – proud and arrogant (v. 24)
  11. Sacrifice of the wicked (v. 27)
  12. False witness (v. 28)

God sees our heart.  He can turn and test our hearts.  He wants both righteousness and justice in our lives instead of sinful sacrifices.  Only  God can give us the victory and success in our lives.  We must put our faith in God alone.
