“All night long on my bed I looked for the one my hearts loves; I looked for him but did not find him” (Song of Songs 3:P1)
“Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves. I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother’s house; to the room of the one who conceived me” (Song of Songs 3:4)
A description of how the beloved is seeking for her lover. She leaves her comfort zone to go to the street to search around. Her love for him cannot rest until she finds him.
Although there are watchmen to give her some information, but she wants to personally find her lover. And finally, she was able to unite with him in a triumphant and beautiful procession. The groom took the bride home.
Here, the Lover represents the Lord and the Beloved, the Church. Sometimes, we have to seek the Lord with all our hearts to enjoy His love. It is not enough to listen to what people say about Jesus. We have to personally experience the joy and peace that is in Him. The church is now waiting for the second coming of Christ. In the meantime, we have to press on and cultivate a loving relationship with the Lord until the day when we shall be reunited with Him in heaven and with great joy.
