[:en]SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 9
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this” (Isaiah 9:6-7)
God has promised us to send us a child – Jesus to come and die for our sins. In Him, we have light instead of darkness, joy instead of sorrow and freedom instead of bondage.
THE NAME OF JESUS:
- Wonderful Counselor – He teaches and guides us to walk in holiness
- Mighty God – Nothing is impossible for Him
- Everlasting Father – He has no end. He forever exists.
- Prince of Peace – He brings peace to us by sacrificing His life so that we can have peace with God, peace with men and peace in our hearts.
THE LORD’S ANGER AGAINST ISRAEL (vs. 8-21)
The Lord sent message to the Northern Kingdom-Israel for them to repent but they would not listen. So, He brought judgment by sending Assyria to take the nation into captivity.
Today, God is sending message for us to acknowledge His grace and accept His truth. If we reject, His hand of judgment will be upon us. Which do you choose? His grace or His judgment?[:]
