[:en]SCRIPTURE” ISAIAH 24
“The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word” (Isaiah 24:3)
“Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; exalt the name of the Lord, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea. From the ends of the earth we hear singing: Glory to the Righteous One” (Isaiah 24:15-16)
“In that day, the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on earth below. They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days” (Isaiah 24:21-22)
THE LORD’S DEVASTATION OF THE EARTH
The Lord made the earth but He is going to lay waste and devastate it. (vs. 1-3) The earth will totally be plundered because the people have disobeyed God’s laws and violated His statute and broken His everlasting covenant (vs. 4-6). The earth is broken up, split asunder and thoroughly shaken due to the guilt of rebellion (vs. 19-20)
In the day, the Lord will punish the power in the heavens above and the kings on earth below will be held prisoners. They will be humbled and punished (vs. 21-22). But the Lord will triumph victoriously and reign gloriously.
