“Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death” (Isaiah 57:2)
“I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him” (Isaiah 57:18)
“There is no peace”, says my God, “for the wicked” (Isaiah 527:21)
Godly leaders were taken away to spare them from seeing their national deterioration and face judgment. The godless society of Judah were accused of adultery, idolatry, sacrificing their children and mocking the godly. They had no fear of God because judgment has not come.
COMFORT FOR THE CONTRITE
But there were still dedicated people who had contrite heart and lovely spirit. God will heal them, guide them, comfort them and restore them.
