[:en]SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 65
“I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will posses my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live” (Isaiah 65:9)
“Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The formers things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy” (Isaiah 65:17-18)
“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24)
JUDGMENT AND SALVATION (vs. 1-16)
The people of Israel acted pious but were guilty of many sins. They worshiped idols, followed occult practices, ate forbidden food and blasphemed God. They refuse to turn from their sins. But the Gentiles responded to God’s call of repentance. However, there are still faithful remnants whom God will bless. They will inherit the earth, eat, drink rejoice and sing with joy.
NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH (vs. 17-35)
God will create new heavens and a new earth. Jerusalem will be a delight and its people a joy. There will be no weeping and crying. People will live a long life. They will dwell on their houses and eat the fruits of their vineyards. They will enjoy the works of their hands. They will be a people blessed by God. God will hear their call and answer their prayers.
