[:en]SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 15
“You have rejected me,” declares the Lord. “You kee on backsliding. So I will lay hands on you and destroy you; I can no longer show compassion” (Jeremiah 15:6)
“Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will make your enemies plead with you in times of disaster and times of distress” (Jeremiah 15:11)
“Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. I will make you a wall to this people., a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you” declares the Lord”(Jeremiah 15:19-20)
“I will save you from the hands of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the crue” (Jeremiah 15:21)
Because of what King Manasseh did in Jerusalem, God was going to send 4 kinds of destroyers to the people: Sword to kill, dogs to drag away, birds of the air to devour and beast of the earth to destroy. They will face death, sword, starvation and captivity (vs. 2-3). They had rejected the Lord and keep on backsliding. They had not changed their wicked ways. So, bereavement and destruction fell on them (vs. 6-7). God will make their widows more numerous than the sand of the sea. He will bring down anguish and terror to the mothers of young men. The mothers will be disgraced and humiliated. The enemies will kill the survivors by sword (vs. 8-10). Jeremiah’s messages made the people curse him and hate him. So, Jeremiah pleaded with the Lord to avenge him on his persecutors (v. 15). God promised to be with him, to rescue and save him from the hands of the wicked and redeem him from the grasp of the cruel (vs. 20-21)
