[:en]SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 23
“Both prophet and priest are godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness” declares the Lord. Therefore their path will become slippery; they will be banished to darkness and there they will fall. I will bring disaster on them in the year they are punished”, declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 23:11-12)
“Therefore, declares the Lord, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. Yes, declares the Lord, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, “The Lord declares’. Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams”, declares the Lord. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least”, declares the Lord” (JEremiah 23:30-32)
The leaders of the church are supposed to be shepherds to love, guide and take good care of their flocks. But the shepherds in Judah during that time were unrighteous, selfish and unfaithful to God. So the Lord declared to raise up to David a righteous branch to save judah and make Israel live in safety.
LYING PROPHETS:
The false prophets did not give the people spiritual direction. They thwarted their vision to tell the people that it was the oracle from God. People who lacked spiritual direction had no discernment and believed everything they said. They filled prophesy with false hopes from their own minds and told them that they will have peace. They told dreams not from God and led the people astray with their reckless lies.
FALSE ORACLES AND FALSE PROPHETS:
God is going to cast out his presence to any priest or prophet who claims to be the oracle of the Lord in order to distort the words of the living god. God will bring everlasting disgrace and shame and they will be forgotten forever.[:]
