[:en]SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 10
“Then the glory of God rose from abor the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord. The sound of the wings of the cherubim could be heard as far away as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty” when he speaks” (Ezekiel 10:4-5)
“Then the glory of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim. While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them. they stopped at the entrance to the east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory of God of Israel was above them.
THE GLORY DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE
God gave the following visions to Ezekiel:
- He saw a throne over the heads of cherubim (v. 1)
- He saw a man clothed in linen whom the Lord commanded him to fill his hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them on the city (v. 2)
- As the man went in, the glory of the Lord rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord (v. 3)
- He saw cherubim with 4 wheels and each of the cherubim had 4 faces: cherub, man, lion, and eagle. (vs. 9-14)
- The cherubim had wheels and wings that followed his movements because the spirit of the living creatures was in them (vs. 15-17)
- Then the glory of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim. The the cherubim stopped at the entrance to the east gate of the Lord’s house and the glory of the God of Israel was above them (v. 18)
- There were 4 cherubims each had 4 faces and 4 wings and under their wings looked like the hands of a man *v. 27)
The glory of God departed from His house because God will not share his glory with idols. The idols and the sins of the people had driven Him away. Today, God will also remove His glory and His blessings from our lives if we do not serve Him faithfully and honestly with a pure heart.[:]
