[:en]SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 47
“”This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “These are the boundaries by which you are to divide the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel, with two portions for Joseph. You are to divide it equally among them. Because I swore with uplifted hand to give it to your forefathers, this land will become your inheritance” (Ezekiel; 47:13-14)
“You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance,” declares the Sovereign Lord” (Ezekiel 47:21-23)
THE RIVER FROM THE TEMPLE
Ezekiel was brought to the entrance of the temple. He saw river coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east. When he arrived at the bank of the river, he saw a great number of trees and swarms of living creatures. The River speaks of healing and life giving power of the Holy Spirit of God.
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE LAND
The Sovereign Lord gave the boundaries on how to divide the land for an inheritance among the 12 tribes of Israel with 2 portions for Joseph (v. 13). All sides – east, west, north and sought were being specified for the boundaries to be made. They are also required to allot an inheritance for the aliens who settled there.
The new name for the city of Jerusalem will be Jehovah Shammah – “The Lord is there”. The Lord had departed from Jerusalem because of the sins of the people but he will return and dwell with them
For all believers, let us lift our eyes by faith to a future city of the New Jerusalem. It is a Holy City, a dwelling place of God with men. There will be no more death, mourning or crying or pain (Rev. 21:1-5)
