SCRIPTURE: ROMANS 5
Bible Verses:
“ Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:1-5)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:18-19)
PEACE AND JOY (vs. 1-11)
After we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (v. 1) As we access into God’s grace, we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. We also rejoice in our sufferings, because suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope. This hope assures of God’s love poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. His love is demonstrated to us by His willingness to die for us while we were still sinners.
Having been justified, we are reconciled to him and at peace with God. We are no longer enemies but has become his children. Before, we belong to the old creation under Adam where death and sin reigned. Now that we are in Christ under new creation. Grace is reigning through righteousness that brings eternal life through Jesus our Lord.
