SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 15
BIBLE VERSES:
“For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:52-53)
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)”
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST (vs. 1-11)
Christ died for our sins. He was buried and resurrected on the third day. He appeared to Peter and to the apostles that bore witness and passed their testimonies to us.
THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD (vs. 12-34)_
There is a living hope for those who were death in Christ because Jesus will come again and raise them with glorified bodies.
THE RESURRECTION BODY (vs. 35-58)
Since Jesus had conquered sin and death, He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must give ourselves fully to the work of the Lord because our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
THOUGHTS:
The resurrection of Christ is the center of the gospel message. Because he arose, he had conquered evil and defeated death. He is now in control, allowing evil to remain in the meantime until he sends Jesus to earth again to present a perfect new world. Keeping company that deny Christ will corrupt Christian character. Do not let your relationship with unbelievers lead you away from Christ or cause your faith to waver. (v. 33)
Our resurrected body will be perfect, strong without infirmities and full of glory. As Christ had won the ultimate victory, we should not be discouraged in doing the work of the Lord. We should serve God enthusiastically as the opportunity permits.
