Our Daily Scripture – 9/25/22

SCRIPTURE:  REVELATION 7

BIBLE VERSES:

And they cried out in a loud voice:  “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:10)

“Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” (Revelation 7:12)

‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst.  The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;‘he will lead them to springs of living water.  ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:16-17)

144,000 SEALED (vs. 1-8)

John saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth.  Then another angel came from the east telling the 4 angels not to harm the land or the seas or the trees until the foreheads of the servants of God are sealed.  The number being sealed is 144,000 (12k from each tribe).  The 12 tribes are:  Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin.

THE GREAT MULTITUDE IN WHITE ROBES (vs. 98-17)

A great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language wearing white robes and holding palm branches were standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb carrying out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb” (v. 11)  These people have come out of the great tribulation and they are before the throne of God seeing God day and night in his temple.  They will not experience hunger or thirst.  God will protect them from the scorching heat of the sun.  He will wipe away their tears and be their shepherd leading them to springs of living water.

THOUGHTS:

TWO GROUPS OF REDEEMED PEOPLE:

  1. 144,000 SEALED – The sealed Jews – The sealing angels commanded the angels of the winds to hold back their judgment until His servants have been sealed and protected from judgment to come.
  2. The Great Multitude in White Robes – They are the saved Gentiles.  These multitude cannot be numbered.  They are the fruits of the labor of 144,000 from every nation.  They are saved by faith in Christ who had endured trials, fears and testings.  They refuse to receive the mark of the Beast and will not be able to buy or sell.

When you are suffering or sorrowful, take comfort in God’s promise of complete protection and relief.  God’s children have an eternal home where there is no hunger, thirst, pain or tears.
