[:en]Thoughts from 2 Chronicles 26[:]

[:en]After Amaziah died, the people of Judah took Uzziah (Azariah) and made him king at 16 years old.  He reigned in Jerusalem for 52 years and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.  He listened to Zechariah, who instructed him to fear the Lord.  God gave him success at war with Philistines, Arabs, Meunites and Ammonites.  His fame spread and he became very powerful.  He built towers, trained armies, and provided machineries for defenses.

After Uzziah became powerful, his pride led him to his downfall.  He burned incense in the temple of God.  When Azariah, the priest with 80 other courageous priests confronted him that only priests can burn incense, he became angry.  While he was raging with the priests before the incense altar, leprosy broke out on his forehead.  He lived in a separate house until the day he died.  His son Jotham took charge of the palace and govern the people of the land.[:]
