SCRIPTURE: DEUTERONOMY 32
BIBLE VERSES:
“I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” (Deuteronomy 32:4)
THE SONG OF MOSES: (vs. 1-43)
The Song of Moses consists of His love, greatness, goodness, treasure protection and justice. It gave a grief history of Israel and reminded the people of their past mistake. It warned them to avoid repetition of those mistakes and offered the hope that came only in trusting God. It was to teach His people to love and obey God.
Moses urged the people to teach God’s word to their children. For God’s Word is compared to the rain and dew which came down from heaven to bring life and refreshment to the earth.
MOSES TO DIE ON MOUNT NEBO (vs. 48-50)
Moses climbed up on the mountain of Nebo in Moab across from Jericho and view Canaan. God allowed him to see it only because he broke faith of God in the presence of the Israelites at the water of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin. He died in Mt. Nebo while Aaron died in Mt. Horeb.
THOUGHTS:
As God had guided and led the Israel in their journey to the promised land, he also guards and protects us like the apple of His eyes and mother eagle who protects the young. We must totally trust in His leading because He is the rock whom we can depend on in this changing world.
Moses told His people to think about God’s Word and teach it to their children. We must also study God’s word, apply to our ives and pass it to the next generation.
