[:en]Thoughts from 2 Chronicles 35[:]

[:en]Josiah celebrated the Passover and observed the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.  He provided for all the lay people.  This celebration was the greatest since the days of the prophet Samuel as the priest, the Levites and all Judah and Israel came together for this occasion.

Neco, the king of Egypt went to fight at Carchemish on the Euphrates and Josiah marched out to meet him in battle.  Neco sent messenger telling him not to interfere because he was not fighting him but the Carchemish.  But Josiah would not listen.  Archers shot him and he died.  Jeremiah composed  a lament for Josiah to commemorate him.  His son Jehoahaz succeeded him as king.[:]
