[:en]In the first year of Cyrus, King of Persia made a proclamation allowing the exiles to return to Jerusalem to build a temple for the Lord at Jerusalem in Judah. He would provide them with silver, gold, goods, livestock and freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem. He also returned all the articles belonging to the temple of the Lord which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away.
The exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken captive to Babylon returned to Jerusalem and Judah and settled in their own towns.[:]
