SCRIPTURE: PSALMS 24
MEMORY VERSE:
“Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand to his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.” (Psalms 24:3-4)
THIS PSALMS REVEALS GOD’S GLORY IN MANY WAYS:
- Glory in creation – (vs. 1-2) – The earth and the world is the Lord’s. He founded the sea and established the water.
- Glory in salvation – (vs. 3-6) – Those who have clear hands and pure hearts without worshiping idols may ascend the hills of the Lord and stand in his heavenly pace. Those who seek the Lord will receive his blessings.
- Glory in the Kingdom (vs. 7-10) – The King of glory is strong and mighty. He will come in gates and doors. He is the Lord Almighty, the King of glory.
THOUGHTS: (By Warren W. Wiersbe)
This Psalms looks forward to Christ’s future entry into the new Jerusalem to reign forever. When Jesus Christ claims Jerusalem, He will have defeated the nations of the world at Armageddon. When He returns to his earth in judgment and glory, He will first return in the air to take the church to heaven. Then there will be awful 7 years of tribulations on the earth before Jesus Christ will return to judge and deliver the world from evil. Then the earth will be renewed and restored to righteous kingdom for a thousand years. So, be ready to receive Him as your Savior and let Him be your Great Shepherd to guide and bless your life. Then when He returns as the Chief Shepherd, you will ready to meet Him.
