SCRIPTURE: PSALM 32
MEMORY VERSE:
“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7)
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:.8)
“Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!” (Psalm 32:11)
David knew to acknowledge his sin and confess his transgression to the Lord. God forgave him and protected him from troubles. God’s unfailing love always surrounds those who trust in Him. (v. 10). After the deliverance, David rejoiced and sang songs of praise to the Lord.
THOUGHTS:
David experienced all kinds of troubles – envy, attack, friend’s abandonment, physical illness. But when he confessed it to the Lord, he was relieved and his burdens were lifted up, After he had finally being honest with God, he went from silence to singing and rejoicing. When you sin, confess it as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more miserable you will be.
God described some people as being like horses or mules that have to be controlled by bits and bridles. Instead of letting God guide them step by step, they leave God. So God had to discipline and punish them. But God wants to guide you and lead you in the right way to go. He wants to counsel you and watch over you. Accept God’s advices in His Word and do not let your stubbornness keep you from obeying God.
