[:en]Ananias and Sapphira sold a piece of property and lied to the Spirit, the church and to Peter. Their dishonesty cost their lives. The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. More and more men and women believed in the Lord. Those who were sick and tormented by evil spirits were healed.
While the apostles were in public jail, an angel of the Lord appeared during the night and opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. At daybreak, they entered the temple courts and began to teach the people. The Sanhedrin gave strict orders for them not to teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and the apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men” (v. 29). They counted worthy of the suffering disgrace for the Name of Jesus. (v. 41)
We should obey God rather than men.[:]
