Our Daily Scripture – 2/15/24 (Thursday)

SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 80

MEMORY VERSE:

“Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.” (Psalm 80:3, 7 & 19)

Asaph prayed  “Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved” three times.  He asked God to restore the nation because Israel was like a flock of sheep led by God.  He wanted God’s face to shine upon them and save them.  He emphasized that Israel was a fruitful wine that God has brought out.  But the vine is cut off and burned with fire.  So, he pleaded God to raise with his hand and rescue them so that they will call on His name.

THOUGHTS:

All believers are sheep in the flock and branches in the vine.  We have to be faithful and fruitful in order to enjoy God’s blessings.

Before God can turn us to himself, we must turn away from sin.  We just humble ourselves with true repentance before we can receive forgiveness and restore fellowship with God.
