SCRIPTURE: PSALM 94
MEMORY VERSES:
“The Lord knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.” (Psalm 94:11)
“Blessed is the man you discipline, O Lord, the man you teach from your law; you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. Judgment will gain be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.” (psalm 94:12-15)
“He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the Lord our God will destroy them.” (Psalm 94:22)
DEEDS OF THE WICKED:
- They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting. (v. 4)
- They crush God’s people and oppressed their inheritance. (v. 5)
- They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless. (v. 6)
- They say, “The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed.” (v. 7)
- The band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. (v. 21)
WHAT WE RECEIVE FROM GOD:
- His help to fight against the evildoers. (vs. 16-17)
- His love to support us. (v. 18)
- His consolation to bring joy to our soul. (v. 19)
- His protection as our rock fortress. (v. 23)
THOUGHTS:
The Lord will rise up to judge thee earth and the proud has to pay back what they deserved. He will discipline nations to restore righteousness. God also disciplines us to teach us the right way. He wants to train and correct us as a proof of his love.
