SCRIPTURE: PSALM 104
MEMORY VERSES:
“Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty” (psalm 104:1)
“May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works” (Psalm 104:31)
“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord” (Psalm 104:33-34)
WHY IS GOD GREAT?
- He is clothed with splendor and majesty. (v. 1)
- He wraps himself in light as with a garment and stretches out the heavens like a tent. (w. 2)
- He lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters and makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. (v. 3)
- He makes the winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. (v. 4)
- He set the earth on its foundations which can never be moved. (v. 5)
- He covered the foundation with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. (v. 6)
- At the rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; (v. 7)
- He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains. (v. 10)
- He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work. (v. 13)
- He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate – bringing forth food from the earth (v. 14)
- He watered the trees of the Lord and planted the cedars of Lebanon. (v. 16)
- He brings darkness, it become night and all the beasts of the forest prowl. (v. 20)
- He gives them food at the proper time. (v. 27)
- He satisfies people with good things. (v. 28)
- When he hides his face, people are terrified. (v. 29a)
- When he takes away a man’s breath, he dies and return to the dust. (v. 29b)
- He sends His spirit to renew the face of the earth. (v. 30)
THE WOLD THAT GOD GAVE US:
- A place of greatness – He laid the foundation of the earth. (vs. 1-9)
- A place of goodness – He provided us life, water, food and houses for man, animals and beast. (vs. 20-30)
- A place of gladness – He rejoices over his creator. We should also be glad in the Lord. (vs. 31-3)
THOUGHTS:
The Psalmist summarized God’s creation in a poem. God’s creation is in the first chapter of Genesis.

God laid the foundation of the earth and guaranties its permanence. His creation is full of varieties revealing His creativity, goodness and wisdom. It expresses God’
as sovereignty over all creation with superior and unlimited power over the entire universe. He creates, he processes and he governs. His power is sufficient to handle our life.
