Our Daily Scripture – 3/17/24 (Sunday)

SCRIPTURE:  PSALM 111

MEM0RY VERSES:

“Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.  Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever” (Psalm 111:2-3)

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, all who follow his precepts have good understanding.  To him belongs eternal praise.” (Psalm 111:10)

WHY IS GOD GRACIOUS AND COMPASSIONATE?

  1.  He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. (v. 5)
  2.  He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. (v. 6)
  3.  The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. (v. 7)
  4.  They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness. (v. 8)
  5.  He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever – holy and awesome is his name. (v. 9)

THOUGHTS:

The only way to become truly wise is to fear (revere) God because God is the source of wisdom.  When we think that we can become wise by life experience and academic knowledge, then our foundation for making decision will be shaky.  We are prone to make wrong decisions and make foolish choices.
