DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS AFTER CHRIST’S RESURRECTION – 04/1/24

SCRIPTURE:  MATTHEW 28: 19-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”

JESUS’ GREAT COMMISSION BEFORE HE ASCENDED TO HEAVEN:

The resurrection of Christ is the key to our Christian Faith.  Before He ascended to heaven, He gave his disciples a great commission:

KEY ACTIONS TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN HIS COMMISSION:

  1.  Go – Go out to preach the gospel and share your faith.
  2.  Make disciples – Bring people into God’s kingdom through intentional, deliberate and loving relationship that involves encouragement and training in God’s Word.
  3.  Baptizing them – Inviting them into relationship with God by terminating the old life and entering into a new life.
  4.  Teach them to obey His commands – Let them learn to follow God’s way and God’s will.

THOUGHTS:

When someone is dying or leaving us, his last words are very important.  Jesus left the disciples a great commission with a promise that He would be with them always.  This commission was not limited to His disciples only but to all those who have accepted Him as their Savior.  How will you respond your appreciation for His sacrifice to you?  Are you willing to do His commission?
