Our Daily Scripture – 4/19/24 (Friday)

SCRIPTURE: PSALM 140 (Friday)

MEMORY VERSE:

“O Lord, I say to you, “You are my God.”  Hear, O Lord, my cry for mercy.  O Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle – do not grant the wicked their desires, O Lord; do not let their plans succeed, or they will become proud.” (Psalm 140:6-8

WEAPONS SATAN USED TO ATTACK CHRISTIANS:

  1.  Evil plans of violent men. (vs. 1-2)
  2.  Sharp tongues like serpent and poison of vipers from the slanderers (v. 3)
  3.  Hidden snare, cords of net and trap of proud men. (v. 5)
  4.  Desires of wicked men. (v. 8)

WHAT DID DAVID PRAY?

  1.  Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men. (v. 1)
  2.  Keep me O Lord, from the hands of the wicked. (v. 4)
  3.  Hear my cry for mercy o Lord. (v. 6)
  4.  Do not grant the wicked their desires not let their plans succeed. (v. 8)
  5.  Le my enemies be covered with troubles. (v. 9)
  6.  Let them be thrown into the fire and miry pits. (v. 10)
  7.  Let the slanderers not be established. (v. 11a)
  8.  Let disaster hunt down men of violence. (v. 11b)

THOUGHTS:

Let us depend on prayer and God’s promise to maintain our character knowing that God will take care of our reputation and judge the slanderers.  Remember that the Lord will bring comfort and stand with us.  One day, He will ultimately bring justice.
