Our Daily Scripture – 5/18/24 (Saturday)

SCRIPTURE:  PROVERBS 19

MEMORY VERSES:

“Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a fool whose lips are perverse. (Proverbs 19:1)

“Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man’s friend deserts him.” (Proverbs 19:4)

“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers.” (Proverbs 19:8)

“House and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” (Proverbs 19:14)

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.” (Proverbs 19:17)

“Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.” (Proverbs 19:20)

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21)

RICH / POOR

A poor man with good character is better than a rich man with perverse lips.  A poor man is deserted by his friend and shun by his relatives, but a rich man has many friends.

WISE / FOOL

A wise man submits to the Lord and obeys His instruction, but as fool ruins his life by his own way.  A wise man is kind to the poor but a fool wastes wealth.

FAMILY – HUSBAND / WIFE / FATHER / SON

Husband inherited houses from parents but a prudent wife is from the Lord.  A son who robs his father and drives his mother away brings shame and disgrace.  Those who listen to father’s discipline will stay on the right path.

THOUGHTS:

A blameless life is more valuable than wealth.  Sad to say that people do not believe in this.  Lots of people want to get rich by staling or cheating.  They disregard their integrity for the sake of wealth.  But when we love God, we know that poverty is a small price to pay for personal integrity.
