THOUGHTS:
The girl whom Salomon felt in love had tanned skin because she always worked outside in the vineyard. When she was brought to Jerusalem, she felt embarrassed about her complexion because the city girls had fair and delicate skin which are considered much more beautiful. But Solomon loved her dark skin. The girl felt insecure at being different from the women of Jerusalem and at being alone while her lover was away. She longed for the security of his presence. But genuine love entails commitment without fear of deceit, manipulation or exploitation.
The greatest thing that God gave you is His love. Therefore, you must experience your love for Him in words and in deeds. Spend time with Him in daily devotion by reading His Word and praying. Follow and commune with Him towards a loving fellowship in order to enjoy a balance Christian life.
