- The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice, blossom and shout for joy. Lebanon, Carmel and Sharon will be given glory.(v. 1)
- The eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. (v. 5)
- The lame will leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. (v. 6)
- The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. (v. 7)
- There will be a highway called the Way of Holiness for the redeemed. (v. 8)

- The ransomed of the Lord return and enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them , and sorrow and singing will flee away. (v. 10)
When Christ came, the desolate wilderness will become a beautiful garden. God’s creation will rejoice as it is set far from the bondage of sin. Everyone will walk safely in God’s Highway of Holiness and experience the blessings of deliverance, strength, holiness and joy.
THOUGHTS:
This chapter is a beautiful picture of the final kingdom when God will establish his justice and destroy all evil. Here, Isaiah saw a vision of joy and encouragement. Life will be peaceful and everything will be make right. The righteous pilgrim will travel God’s highway of Holiness with protection from wicked travelers and harmful animals. The weak will become strong and sorrow will turn to joy. The land will be fertile with plenty of harvest. God will reveal his love and mercy to those who believe and trust in Him.
