SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 15
God wanted to send the people from his presence. He was sending four kinds of destroyer – death, sword, starvation and captivity. The people had not changed their way. So God could no longer show compassion. Instead, he would bring bereavement and destruction to His people. The enemies will enslave them. Their wealth and treasures will be plundered.
Jeremiah was asking God to avenge his persecutors. He was suffering unending pain with grievous and murderous wound. The Lord assured to rescue and safe him from the hands of the wicked and redeem him from the group of the cruel.
THOUGHTS:
Jeremiah had different roles in his spiritual ministry. He mourned with a broken heart when the nation were facing captivity and death. He did not preach “smooth words’ which made people cursed him. He felt lonely in his leadership because people would not listen to him. He was careful to preach only the true word of God.
