SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 31
A CEDAR IN LEBANON (vs. 1-18)
A description of the beauty and majesty of Lebanon and its downfall was conveyed to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The purpose was to warn Pharaoh that their splendor and majesty will also be brought down and they will be killed by the sword.
THOUGHTS:
Pharaoh thought that his nation was indestructible. But God would rebuke Pharaoh’s pride, cut down the nation and cast it into hell. Just like Assyria, Egypt was taking pride in its strength and beauty. That was the cause of her downfall. She would be crushed like a mighty tree and be sent to the place of dead.
