[:en]Thoughts from “Light to My Path” (7/15/17)[:]

[:en]Scripture Reading:  Matthew 7:21-29

Biblical Truth:  “Not everyone who says to me,  ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Mat. 7:21).  It is not enough to do great things in his name because it is possible to do impressive things in the name of Jesus and still remain a stranger to Him.  For Jesus, to act in His name is to abide in Him and to let Him abide in us.  (John 15:4,7)

Personal Application:  The teachings of Jesus are incomplete without putting them into practice because spiritual ideas are understood only through obedience to His will.  Let us integrate hearing and doing to strengthen our relationship with God and establish a firm foundation for our lives.

Prayer:  Thank you Lord, for giving us the gift of the Spirit.  Make us doers of your words.[:]
