RESURRECTION DAY SCRIPTURES:
The Resurrection of Jesus was recorded in all the 4 Gospels of the Bible:
“The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:5-6)
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said, “You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.” (Mark 16:6)
“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee” “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raise again.”(Luke 24:6-7)
“Mary Magdalene said: “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” (John 20:2)
OTHER BOOKS OF THE BIBLE PROVED THAT JESUS HAS RISEN:
- Acts 1:3 – “After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.”
- Romans 8:1 – “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that the Scriptures, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day.” Christ died for our sins according to
- Galatians 1:1 – Paul, an apostle -sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead ”
- Ephesians 1:19-20 – God’s incomparably power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.”
- Philippians 3:10-11 – I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
- Colossians 3:1 – “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.”
- 1 Thessalonians 4:14 – We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”
- 1 Timothy 3:16 – Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.”
- 2 Timothy 2:8-9 – Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.”
- Titus 2:13 -While we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
- Hebrews 13::20 – “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ.”
- 1 Peter 1:3 – Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.“
- Revelation 1:18 – “I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
BENEFITS OF CHRIST’S RESURRECTION:
A) Assurance of Salvation:
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
B) Victory over sin and death:
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
“But it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”(2 Timothy 1:10)
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” (1 John 5:4)
C) Promise of Eternal Life:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)
“And this is what he promised us – even eternal life.” (1 John 2:25)
D) Living hope for believers:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fate – keep in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3-4)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles’ they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
E) Guarantee of an imperishable and glorious body:
“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable and we will be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:52)
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” (Philippians 3:20-21)
