Biblical Truth: Jesus talked about the Parable of the Sower showing 4 kinds of soil – On the Path, On Rocky Place, Among the Thorns, and On the Good Soil. He explained it with 4 kinds of people who hear the message about the kingdom of God.
On the Path – Satan came to snatch the message away from his heart
On Rock Place – Troubles and persecution cased him to fall away
Among the Thorns – Worries of life and deceitfulness of wealth choke him to become unfaithful
On the Good Soil – Received the message and produce a hundred fold of crops
Personal Application: The preaching of the gospel has both positive and negative results. It is through prayer and reliance on the Holy Spirit that will enable one to open his heart and mind to receive the gospel.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be the one in good soil and enable me to sow righteousness and reap the fruit of unfailing love. (Hosea 10:12)[:]
