[:en]David had asked this question of “HOW LONG” several times in Psalm:
- “How long, O Lord will you forget us forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? (Psalm 13:1-3)
- “How long, O Lord? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?” (Psalm 79:5)
- “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?” (Psalm 82:2)
- “How long, O Lord, will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire? (Psalm 89:46)
- “How long will the wicked, O Lord, how long will the wicked be jubilant?” (Psalm 94:3)
David finally found his answer: “But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the Lord our God will destroy them” (vs. 22-23)
Many times, we also struggle with this question “How long, O Lord, how long?” We are in a hurry asking God to solve our problems. But having complete trust in God’s method and timetable is a lifelong course for us to learn. All we should do is to wait for Him, walk with Him and pray to Him.
