[:en]Thoughts from Psalm 103[:]

[:en]The phrase “Praise the Lord” was used 6 times in this chapter (v. 1, 2, 20, 21, 22a, 22b).  Reasons why we must praise God:

  1. Forgiveness – “He forgives our sins and heals our disease” (v. 3)
  2. Redemption – “He redeems us and crown us with love and compassion (v. 4)
  3. Satisfaction – “He satisfies our desires with good things” ( v. 5)
  4. Righteousness – He works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed” (v. 6)
  5. Works – “He made known his ways and deeds” (v. 7)
  6. Character – “He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love (v. 8)
  7. Compassion – He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever” (v. 9)
  8. Mercy – He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities” (v. 10)

His great love is as high as the heaves.  His mercy is as far as the east is from the west.  His compassion is on those who fear him (vs. 11-13),  He knows we are formed out of dust.  Our days are like grass that flourish;  like a flower but is gone when the wind blow over it. (vs. 12-16).  But his love is from everlasting to everlasting to those who fear him and keep his covenant.

“The Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules over all” (v. 19)[:]
