[:en]The Psalmist was experiencing a very difficult situation when he wrote this Psalm. “The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me. I was overcome by trouble and sorrow” ( v. 3) And he called on the name of the Lord to save him. The Lord heard his cry. He had delivered his soul from death, his eyes from tears and his feet from stumbling where he can walk before the Lord in the land of the living. (vs. 8-9)
Hos did the Psalmist repay the Lord?
- “I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord” (v. 13)
- “I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people” (v. 14, 18)
- “I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord” (v. 17)
“Precious is the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (v. 15) means that the death of God’s children is so precious to Him. It will not be an accident – it is an appointment because God knows every detail of your life. It is only when your work for Him is finished before He will take you to be with Him.[:]
