[:en]Thoughts from Psalm 119:17-48[:]

[:en]GIMEL (vs. 17-24)

We are a stranger on earth.  We need a “road map” to guide our ways.  His Word serves as our counselors to lead us in the right path.  Meditate on his decrees (v 23) and delight in his statues (v. 24).  God’s word can preserve us (v. 25),, teach us, (v. 26) strengthen us (v. 28), keep us from deceitful ways (v. 29)  and sets our heart free (v. 32)

HE (vs. 33-40)

We need God to teach us his decrees (v. 33a), give us understanding (v. 34a), direct our paths (v. 35a), turn our hearts towards him (v. 36), and turn our eyes away from worthless things (v. 37a)

And we have to keep his decrees (v. 33b), obey his law by heart (34b), find delight in his commands (v. 35b), avoid selfish gain (v. 36b), and preserve our lives according to His word )v. 37b).

WAW (vs. 41-48)

Because of his unfailing love and promise of salvation, we must:

Trust in his word (v. 42) keep the word of truth and put your hope in his laws (v. 43), obey his laws (vs. 44),  sought out his precepts (v. 45), speak of his statutes (v. 46) and delight in his commands.(v. 47)[:]
