[:en]Thoughts from Psalm 135[:]

[:en]”Praise” is mentioned 11 times.  It opened and ended with
“Praising the Lord”.  The Psalmist gave us reasons why he praised the Lord:

  1.  He had chosen Israel to be his treasured possession (v. 4)
  2. His creation reveals his might and provisions (v. 7)
  3. He performed wonders and defeated nations and give their land as an inheritance to his people (vs. 8-12)
  4. He vindicated his people and had compassion on his servants (v. 14)

“IDOL” is not limited to a carved image.  It also implies the things you work for, sacrifice for and live for.  For some, it may be money and possessions, for others, it may be ambition or fame.  So be careful to get rid of any idols that may hinder you from worshiping the Lord.[:]
