[:en]Thoughts from 2 Corinthians 11[:]

[:en]Paul warned about the false teachers who were trying to seduce the church from devotion to Christ.  He refused to receive support from them in preaching the gospel so as not to burden the church (vs. 7-9)  And he encountered sufferings to defend the gospel (vs/ 23-33).

He boasted about his trials and sufferings as follows:

  1. Been in prison
  2. Been flogged more severely
  3. Been exposed to death
  4. Received 39 lashes from the Jews
  5. Beaten with rods 3 times
  6. Stoned once
  7. Shipwrecked 3 times
  8. Spend a night and a day in the open sea
  9. Danger from rivers
  10. Danger from bandits
  11. Danger from own countrymen
  12. Danger from Gentiles
  13. Danger in the city
  14. Danger in the country
  15. Danger at sea
  16. Danger from false brothers
  17. Labored and toiled and often gone without sleep
  18. Known hunger and thirst and have gone without food
  19. Been cold and naked
  20. Pressure of concern for all the churches
