[:en]Judgment is coming to the nation of Judah because they had been unfaithful to God.  They worshiped the heathen idols and forgot what God did for them. (v. 4-8)  They exchanged the spring of living water with a broken cistern that cannot hold water (v. 13).  they went to Egypt to drink water from Shihor and to Assyria to drink water from the river (v. 18).  God punished them for their wickedness and backsliding (v. 19). They broke off their band with the Lord (v. 20) and degenerated into a corrupt wild vine bearing no fruit (v. 21).  They were like wild animal in heat of lust (vs. 23-25).  They denied their sins (v. 35) and became prisoners of Egypt and Assyria.
