[:en]Paul wrote 1 Timothy to guide them concerning the qualifications and duties of a Pastor.
Timothy was born at Lystra. His father was a Greek and his mother a Jewish, who taught him the Scriptures from childhood. Timothy was a disciple of Paul, who help Paul’s work. Timothy was young while he became a teacher and leader of the church at Ephesus. So Paul wrote this important letter to Timothy to guide and advise him of his work.

False teachers were in the church and Paul wanted Timothy to watch over the flock and teach people the truth. He mentioned that He was once a blasphemer, a persecutor and a violent man. But God’s grace had made him to be appointed for His service (vs. 12-16). He encouraged Timothy to fight the good fight,. hold on to faith and a good conscience (vs. 18-19).
Take up the responsibility to do the work of God. The same God who empowered Paul and Timothy will also empower you today![:]
