[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (11/10/17)[:]

[:en]In 1 Peter 3, Apostle Paul gave instruction for his readers as follows:

  1.  Live in harmony with one another, be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble (v. 8)
  2. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult but with blessings, because to this, you were called so that you may inherit a blessing (v. 9)
  3. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech (v. 10)
  4. Turn from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it (v. 11)
  5. Set apart Christ as Lord in your hearts (v. 15)
  6. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who ask you and to give the reason for the hope that you have with gentleness and respect. (v. 15)
  7. Keep a clean conscience so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander (v. 16)
  8. Suffer for good (v. 17)

You can draw people to Christ when your life combines good behavior with appropriate words reflecting the difference Christ makes in your life.  Live for Christ and shine for Jesus.[:]
