[:en]King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem and took along articles from the temple of God.  Young and healthy men with high intelligence were brought to Babylon for 3 years training to serve the king.  Among them were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariach.  They were given new names as Balteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego respectively.   They were given royal food and wine but they requested to have vegetable and water instead.  At the end of 10 days, they looked healthier and better nourished than any young men who ate the royal food.  When they were presented to the king, the king found them 10 times better in wisdom and understanding than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.[:]
