[:en]Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel. Cain was a farmer while Abel was tending flock. Cain offered fruits to the Lord while Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering but on Cain and his offering He did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry. He enticed his brother to go out to the field and killed him. When the Lord confronted Cain”Where is your brother Abel?”, He replied: I don’t know. Am I my brother’s keeper”? (vs. 9-10)
The Lord God cursed the ground he would work on for it will no longer yield its crops and he will become a wanderer on earth. But God promised that whoever kills him will suffer vengeance 7 times over. (v. 15)[:]
