[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (3/5/18)[:]

[:en]When Hezekiah was king of Judah, Sennacherib, king of Assyria invaded and captured the cities of Judah.  He then sent a letter to Hezekiah, a bad-news “telegraph” urging his surrender.  In that dreadful moment, King Hezekiah went up to the temple of the Lord and brought the bad-news letter before the Lord.  Then he prayed earnestly, acknowledging the power of God over their gloomy situation.  God intervened in a powerful way.  (2 Kings 19:-3; 11-14)

When bad news reach us, let us follow Hezekiah’s action by spreading out the news before the Lord in prayer.  Let us turn to him to defend for us and hear His words of assurance.[:]
