[:en]The life of David was messy. He had an illicit relationship with Bathsheba and an also indirect murderer of Uriah. When he became king of Israel, he faced military challenges, political intrigue, betrayal by friends and rebellion from his own son. Yet in many of his difficulties, He turned to God because he knew that God was greater than the most chaotic parts of his life.
Our lives are far from perfect. We encounter failures, difficulties, trials and temptations. But if we take refuge in God and seek forgiveness from Him, we can make a fresh start. With His love, mercy and faithfulness, He serves as our lamp to turn our darkness into light. (2 Sam. 22:29)[:]
